So – What exactly is Pirate Booz?

Back during Pirating days, there was no real preference on the drink that pirates would enjoy getting drunk with. Most of the time, the goal was not for flavor or taste, but rather for that act of getting drunk. Rum was popular, but primarily because it was more readily available since Rum is made from Sugar and Sugarcane, a resource very common in the Caribbean areas.

When plundering, the fact is that the pirates would consume what was available. This included Rum, Whiskey, Wine, or any other spirit that was easy to come by. It has been through marketing that Rum has been associated to be the Pirate’s choice. It has been said that many upscale pirates would prefer Whiskey or Burbon which was more readily available in the states.

For the purposes of our project, we are going to be focusing on the best “Pirate Booz” products that are manufactured by the craft distillers right here in Florida. From traditional rums to aged and dark rums, whiskey products, and drinks that would make a Florida Pirate proud.
